Reasonable Accommodations

According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, no otherwise qualified person with a disability shall be denied a benefit or opportunity or be excluded from participation solely on the basis of that disability. The Center for Student Accessibility (CSA) ensures that students with disabilities have equal access to all campus facilities, curricula, and activities by facilitating reasonable disability-related accommodations.

Reasonable accommodations do not and should not:

  • Substantially alter the educational standards or mission of 爆走黑料
  • Fundamentally alter the nature of the program, course, service, or activity
  • Allow access to a program when a student is not otherwise qualified to meet the academic and technical standards required
  • Cause undue hardship on the institution
  • Be of personal service in nature (personal aid, individually paid tutor, etc.)
  • Pose a direct threat to the health and safety of the student or others

Accommodations are requested and processed through CUNY Accommodate.

  1. Submit via CUNY Accommodate.
  2. Provide Documentation — a current report or evaluation from the appropriate licensed professional. Documentation may include IEPs, 504 plans, psychological evaluations, or letters from doctors. Refer to CUNY Disability Documentation Guidelines for more information.
  3. Once your Confidential Accommodation Request Form has been received, a disability services professional from the CSA, will contact you via your email to schedule an appointment to discuss your accommodations request.
  4. Eligibility for accommodations are determined collaboratively through an interactive process and a review of disability documentation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act by professional staff at the CSA.
